Arrest for sex assaults in Fairmount Park

Philadelphia police say they've made an arrest in early morning sexual assaults on 2 prostitutes.

The assaults happened overnight in Fairmount Park in the area of the 3600 block of Greenland Drive.

Police say 2 women were picked up during separate encounters on Kensington Ave. with a man. After they agreed to have sex for money, , according to police, the man took them to the park and pulled a gun on them.

Both women were sexually assaulted. One of the women was raped.

Police say they caught the suspect shortly after 6 a.m. His name has not yet been released.

Police are still looking to make an arrest in another series of sexual assualts in Fairmount Park. The most recent happened August 23, and this link provides details from Action News.
