A judge has sentenced a volunteer coach for a girls lacrosse team in central New Jersey to seven years at the state's treatment center for sex offenders.

David Prongay of Edison pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage player.

The 44-year-old in July admitted to molesting the girl, who was between 13 and 16 years old, more than once between April 2008 and his arrest in February.

He also pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a 15-year-old player on a softball team he coached in 2002 by inappropriately kissing her.

Prongay told the judge he had nothing to say at his sentencing Tuesday.

Prongay will also be required to register as a sex offender for life under Megan's Law.
