Soldier gets a free car

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - November 23, 2009 Sgt. White was injured while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's currently out of work and he and his wife, Aeisha, are struggling to raise their 5 children with just one car.

"Well with this we will be able to do a lot more with the kids and get them where they need to be plus I need to get where I need to be so it came at a good time."

The free car is part of the Recycled Rides project. Insurance companies donate cars to auto shops who in turn, repair them and present them to families in need.)

The 2005 Ford Focus was in the junkyard. Pennsylvania based Erie Insurance Group donated the car to Keenan Auto Body in the Northeast. For months they've been rebuilding the car inside and out and they're proud to hand over the keys.

"It was great the whole time we were just thinking about the military and Sgt. White and all the things that he's been through that saves us from going through it was a labor of love," said Michael LeVasseur of Keenan's Auto Body.
