Jerome Armstrong wanted for murder of Brian Way

January 9, 2010 Brian and Tamika Way were high school sweethearts. They had been together for 22 years, married for the past 10 and had a teenage daughter.

"I've been with him for the majority of my life."

On Saturday, June 13th, the couple spent the day shopping. On their way home Brian suggested they pick up some pie and ice cream. They stopped at a store on the 2600 block of N. 18th near Huntingdon Streets in North Philadelphia.

"We parked and he said I'll be right back and he went into the store and I heard four shots."

Tamika ran into the store and saw Brian lying on the floor still holding the money for their dessert. He had been shot in the back multiple times and later died at the hospital.

"We had such a good day to all be taken away in an instant."

Police are looking for 34-year-old Jerome Armstrong, in connection with Brian's murder. Witnesses say Armstrong was sitting outside at a nearby house when Brian went inside the store. Tamika says Armstrong and her husband had a falling out in 2007 that was pretty bad.

"Apparently enough for him to say that if he saw him, if he was Brian or Brian's cousin, whoever he saw first he was going to kill him."

Police believe Armstrong frequents the areas of 5th and Godfrey, Huntingdon Street between 15th and 20th and the areas of 6th and 7th Streets between Green and Fairmount Avenue.

There is a $3,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Armstrong.
