Former Philadelphia DA joins private law firm

PHILADELPHIA - January 5, 2010

The firm said Tuesday that Abraham has joined its Philadelphia office. Monday was Abraham's last day as DA after nearly 20 years as the city's top prosecutor.

The Democrat decided last year not to run again after holding the office since 1991.

One of her former assistants, fellow Democrat Seth Williams, was inaugurated Monday to replace her.

A spokesman for the law firm says Abraham will concentrate on government relations, mediation, litigation and trial strategy and tactics, as well as appellate advocacy.

Abraham said in the statement that she hopes to help the firm grow through her positive energy and years of practical experience.
