The accident occurred at 29th and Clearfield streets in North Philadelphia around 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities say two cars collided at that intersection with at least one of the cars coming to rest on its side.
Police say two occupants of the overturned car fled the scene on foot. A third occupant, who was trapped, was transported to Temple University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the second car, which police said was a rental car, remained at the scene.
