Dr. Ida Campagna says 17-year-old Matthew Wesolowski's grandmother gave birth to him in 1992 in Buffalo, N.Y. Wesolowski was killed in a head-on collision in suburban Philadelphia on Sunday.
Campagna, the obstetrician that delivered Wesolowski, told The Buffalo News on Monday that Wesolowski made international headlines when he was born because his grandmother, Geraldine, was the oldest woman to be a surrogate at the time. She was 53 when Wesolowski was born.
A passenger in the other car, 32-year-old Jodie Morales of Souderton, died at the scene. Two other people were injured.
