On the Net: Social network for grade schoolers

Move over Tory Burch, Samantha Risen has her eyes set on the next big thing in the fashion world out of the Delaware Valley. Samantha actually gets to wear what she designs thanks to the website, Fashionplaytes.com. Samantha's mom, Tara Risen learned about the site through blogging. Here, girls, ages 6 to 11, can actually create their own wardrobe. Parents, if you're worried about your young daughter's creativity growing bigger than her closet... no worries. Kids can design as many clothes as they want, and save their creations to an account - no obligation to buy.

Upload a picture of you and your significant other and let the world decide if you can indeed "do better". The site not only lets others vote on whether or not you and your partner make a good pair. But you can also find out if other people believe if someone else out there is a better match for you.

Clubpenguin.com
This is social networking for kids, well, more like a virtual world for kids. The idea is you have an avatar, which is a penguin, and you can play games and interact with other "penguins" through live chats. It's like Second Life for kids but not creepy and the site claims to be vigilant about safety.

This is pretty cool. Basically it's America's Most Wanted for the Internet. The FBI posts video and pictures of wanted bank robbers plus information associated with the suspect, all in the hopes that people who log on to the site may recognize the suspect and help the FBI nag the crooks. It's a way to keep old cases out there, where as a local news station probably wouldn't run video of a bank robbery that's 2 years old.
