Eagles get Ernie Sims in three-way trade

PHILADELPHIA - April 19, 2010

The Eagles announced the three-way deal in a statement Monday, three days before the NFL draft.

Detroit drafted Sims at No. 9 overall from Florida State in 2006. He started eight games last season and 56 times in his career.

Scheffler, a restricted free agent, had been skipping the Broncos' offseason program. Drafted in the second round of the 2006 draft out of Western Michigan, he scored a career-low two touchdowns despite starting a career-high nine games last season.
