Apps to help not text and drive

Cellcontrol.com virtually connects the drivers cell phone to the vehicle. If the technology detects the car moving, it prohibits the driver's use of certain features like texting and mobile email.

Then there is the app called drivesafe.ly. You download it off your computer onto your iPhone or Blackberry, then you just turn it on. The application then is supposed to translate any text messages you get into a voice recording so you don't have to read the text messages while you're driving.

TXT'nDrive not only reads the texts out loud, but allows you to respond simply by speaking.

iZUP actually holds text messages, e-mails and calls while you're driving, however it always allows unlimited access to 911 and a list of authorized phone numbers.
