Neighbors told police that they heard gunshots at 10:12 Wednesday night coming from the intersection of Fayette and Weaver streets.
Police say that's when someone walked up to the victim and opened fire.
The man's body was found along the 1400 block of Weaver Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are trying to identify him. They did not find any identification on him, but say he is a black male possible in his 30's.
Investigators have not yet indicated if they have a motive or any suspects in mind.
