All lanes of I-95 in Del. open after concrete falls

CLAYMONT, Del. - May 6, 2010

Delaware Department of Transportation workers are trying to determine what caused the concrete, a six foot section of molding on the I-495 southbound overpass, to fall onto the shoulder on the right side of the roadway.

A DELDOT spokesperson says the piece of molding is 6 feet long by 6 inches high by 1-and-a-half inches thick and is a decorative piece that covers the seams of the overpass.

There is no structural damage to the overpass.
