A federal appeals court has upheld a Nevada law that bars legal brothels in Nevada from advertising in Las Vegas, Reno and other places where prostitution is illegal.
The "houses" are allowed to operate in some rural areas. Attorneys for the Shady Lady Ranch were among those who challenged the law.
But a federal appeals panel refused to reconsider an earlier decision that gave the ad ban a legal O-K. Ten counties in Nevada allow legal hookers. But prostitution remains illegal in the counties where Las Vegas and Reno are located.
