FBI: Serial bank robber strikes again

PHILADELPHIA - August 18, 2010

The FBI, the United States Marshals Service, the Philadelphia Police Department and the Abington Township Police Department are all looking for Ransom.

The most recent robbery in which Ransom is a suspect happened Tuesday (8/17) at the TD Bank branch at 710 Old York Road. Ransom is also suspected in robberies at: FirstTrust Bank branch in the Pavilion at 261 Old York Road on August 12; the PNC Bank branch located at 123 Old York Road on July 19th.

Ransom has been officially charged in a July 12th robbery at the Citizens Bank branch located at 2516 Welsh Road in Philadelphia.

Nobody has been injured in any of the holdups.

Investigators say Ransom escaped from a Federal half-way house in Philadelphia on June 26, 2010 for work and never returned.

Ransom is described as: Standing 6'3" tall, weighing 250 pounds. Ransom may be frequenting the Jenkintown and Abington, PA areas, and has, in the past, worn a thick beard.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000, the U.S. Marshals Service at 215-597-7273, the Abington Police Department at 267-536-1100, or their local police. Ransom is considered armed and dangerous. There is a reward for information leading to Ransom's capture.
