Carjacked cab flips on roof on I 95 ramp

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - September 30, 2010

The police chase started around 2:30 on Thursday morning, when officers found out that a Five Star Taxi Cab was stolen in Camden, New Jersey.

They followed the cab as it raced over the Walt Whitman Bridge then blew through the toll plaza on the Philadelphia side of the span.

Moments later, the suspect lost control of the cab on the Packer Avenue on-ramp to Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia.

That's when the taxi flipped onto its roof.

Police arrested the suspect after pulling him out of the vehicle.

He was not seriously injured. He faces a long list of charges.

There's no word on whether the cabbie was injured during the carjacking.
