Meehan beat Democrat Bryan Lentz to fill the seat that has been held by Sestak since 2006. Sestak vacated the seat to run for U.S. Senate.
The 54-year-old Meehan was a local district attorney before becoming the region's top federal prosecutor and overseeing some big Philadelphia corruption cases. Meehan has deep roots in the area and deep campaign pockets.
Lentz is a 46-year-old Iraq War veteran, former Airborne Ranger and one-time Philadelphia prosecutor. His shoe-leather campaign has included 25 town hall meetings focused on jobs.
