Free smoke detectors available in Wilmington

WILMINGTON - November 6, 2010

The Wilmington Fire Department is reminding all residents when changing your clocks back one hour, Saturday night to also change the batteries in your smoke alarms.

If you are a city resident, and don't have a working smoke alarm, or need batteries, stop by any Wilmington Fire Station on Saturday for free smoke detectors and batteries. They will be available on a first-come, first-served basis between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The six Wilmington Fire Department station locations are:
Station #1 2nd & West Streets 571-4593
Station #2 New Castle Avenue & 'A' Street 571-4594
Station #3 30th & Governor Printz Boulevard 571-4589
Station #4 22nd & Tatnall Streets 571-4595
Station #5 1814 Gilpin Avenue 571-4590
Station #6 3rd & Union Streets 571-4591
