Authorities say a Reading police officer fatally shot 28-year-old Victor Cataquet after police responded to a call about a shooting early Tuesday morning.
Police say Cataquet was standing outside the home with a gun and refused to drop the weapon before an officer fired several shots. Officers found an unidentified woman with a gunshot wound lying on the living room floor.
The woman told police Cataquet shot her during a domestic dispute. She was transported to a hospital with wounds police believe are not life threatening.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams is assisting in the investigation.
