The incident happened around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Dimner Beeber Middle School on Malvern Avenue in the Overbrook section.
The school district tells Action News that a male student brought in a pair of scissors and was horsing around with a female student and accidentally stabbed her in the hand.
Police will charge the male student for bringing a weapon to school because students are forbidden to have pointed scissors.
