Fifty-four-year-old Kevin Donovan was arrested Tuesday and charged with numerous counts of theft. He was released on $75,000 unsecured bond.
Police say officials at the woman's bank became concerned about activity on her account and could not get in touch with her.
Troopers visited the woman in May and found that she was in need of medical attention. She was taken to a local hospital.
Detectives say multiple checks were written to Donovan for yard work, household repairs and supplies. Police say over an eight-month period, checks of more than $186,000 were written to Donovan.
