Firefighters were called out around 10:30 p.m. to the Oak Grove Inn, located along the 6700 block of Easton Road.
Several people were trapped inside the two-story hotel, but fire crews managed to get the occupants out.
Firefighting efforts were hampered because of downed wires and high winds.
No one was injured.
Police say the building was renovated a short time ago. So far, investigators have not pinpointed what sparked the blaze.
