He wasn't mailing hockey pucks

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - March 1, 2011

Police charge a hockey coach with trying to mail a 20-pound box of pot to New Jersey.

Authorities say coach Erik Bjorn Hamlet dropped off the box at an Albany, Oregon, post office when the team bus passed through town.

Postal workers were suspicious and called the cops.

Hamlet surrendered to police over the weekend.

He's the assistant coach and co-general manager of the Southern Oregon Spartans, a Junior A hockey team.

Authorities say that 20 pounds of the illegal weed is worth about $65,000.
