FEMA to begin surveying NJ flood damage

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. - March 16, 2011

Officials don't expect the rain to pose much of a threat to the swollen Passaic River at Pine Brook and Little Falls. The river continues to recede even though it remains above flood stage.

Forecasters issued a flood watch for Morris County because the Rockaway And Pequannock Rivers could exceed flood stage again.

Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Union counties are also under a flood watch.

Some roads remain closed in the flood zone and several dozen residents in Paterson and Little Falls are waiting to learn when they could return to their homes.

Schools have reopened in Paterson and Woodland Park.
