On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, the Shangri-La Inn in Bala Cynwyd will host a fundraiser, donating all proceeds for all meals served that day to Peace Winds, Japan, an international non-governmental organization specializing in disaster relief. Peace Winds is transporting and setting up large emergency disaster relief shelters in Miyagi Prefecture, as temporary housing for the many displaced survivors.
All meals that day will be prix fixe ($20 lunch and $50 dinner), and patrons participating in the event can choose soup and/or an appetizer, one entrée, and a beverage (soft drinks, wine, sake) from the full lunch menu (for lunch) or dinner menu (for dinner). There will be a drawing at the end of the night for prizes, including gift cards to the Shangri-La Inn and other prizes and certificates donated by Starbucks, Manny's Crabcakes and other participating Bala Cynwyd merchants.
Patrons who attend the event and leave their names and contact information will automatically be entered in the contest, and need not attend the actual drawing.
