Burglars swipe Kyle Kendrick's World Series ring

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - April 4, 2011

Investigators report the burglary happened between March 26 and 27. The burglars apparently picked and defeated the lock on the Kendricks' home and then spent a "considerable time" loading up the items from the home.

Among the items taken were several personal baseball gloves and bats, a signed jersey from Ken Griffey, Jr., and Kendrick's 2008 World Series ring.

Kyle and Stephanie Kendrick, who are expecting a child in September, were not home at the time of the crime. Action News spoke with the Kendricks Monday night, who said that while losing family heirlooms is difficult, they are grateful that nobody was hurt.

The Kendricks said that while they hope the World Series ring will be recovered, they are confident that come October they will have another one anyway.

Mount Vernon Police want anyone with information to call them at (360) 336-6255 or (360) 428-3211.
