Shoplifters wheel out $1,000 worth of merchandise

Police are looking for two shoplifters who left a Newark, Delaware store with a shopping cart with $1,000 worth of merchandise.

The theft happened around 10:20 a.m. Saturday at the Pathmark Store in the College Square Shopping Center.

Police say the women loaded a grocery cart with approximately $1,000 worth of diapers, body cleansing products and laundry detergent, and then exited the store without paying.

As the pair loaded the stolen items into their vehicle they were approached by store employees.

The women then fled the area in the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model white Toyota Camry with no license plate and a broken and taped over rear passenger side window. The vehicle was last seen fleeing the shopping center towards Marrows Road.
