Pa. horsey set: Investor duped us of millions

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - April 27, 2011

Donald "Tony" Young sat stoicly in federal court Wednesday as a parade of investors described losing their life savings to him.

Lawyer William LaMott says he trusted Young because he was backed by prominent residents of bucolic Chester County. LaMott has since been forced back to work.

Young raced yachts, played polo and joined exclusive country clubs in the Brandywine Valley and Palm Beach, Fla..

A judge will sentence him next week. Prosecutors are seeking 14 to 17 years.

A defense expert says Young suffered brain injuries from falls in motocross as a child, and from polo horses as an adult.
