Pa. district in spying scandal hit with 2nd suit

LOWER MERION TWP., Pa. - June 8, 2011

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports a former Harriton High School student filed suit against Lower Merion School District on Monday over the monitoring software installed on laptops given to students.

The lawsuit says Joshua Levin was "humiliated and severely emotionally distressed" last summer when he viewed images and screenshots taken on his laptop between September 2008 and March 2009.

In October, the district settled a lawsuit brought by two students over images made by district-installed tracking software.

A district spokesman said Levin refused mediation attempts and is "solely motivated by monetary interests."

A message left for Levin's attorney was not immediately returned Wednesday.
