Dozens of tornadoes plague Midwest

June 21, 2011

Yesterday evening, 43 tornadoes and funnel clouds were spotted across five states, with the worst damage in West Central Nebraska.

So far, only minor injuries have been reported.

Terry Dickes' home was one of several damaged in the storms.

"It was very scary. It didn't last long but I don't ever want to re-do it," said Dickes.

In Omaha, frightened fans scrambled out of a college World Series baseball Game, as dark clouds and heavy rain surrounded the stadium.

A massive wedge tornado also touched down just outside of Omaha and over a dozen cars were derailed in the dark twister.

Midwesterners will have to be on guard again today. A large part of the country will see severe weather, with tornadoes possible from Dallas to Minneapolis.
