Woman killed in SW Philadelphia double stabbing

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - June 29, 2011

Police tell Action News that a fight broke out on the block just before 11:30 Tuesday night. The scrap broke up, but a couple hours later someone threw a rock through the window of a home on the street, setting off another fight involving a group of women.

During the second fight, a 20-year-old female suspect stabbed two other women. A 23-year old victim was stabbed in the right forearm. A second victim, a 22-year-old woman, was stabbed in the abdomen.

The two victims were rushed by private vehicle to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where the 22-year-old victim died early this morning. The 23-year-old victim was treated and released.

Police know who they are looking for, but so far the 20-year-old suspect is not in police custody. They say they have her name and information. It's just a matter of time before she is arrested.

Police are not yet releasing the names of the stabbing victims.
