3 arrested for 16 Del. residential burglaries

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DEL. - July 7, 2011

Shaun Anderson, 33, Matthew Kline, 23, and Ashley Vega, 19 have each been charged with multiple burglary, theft, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and unlawful use of credit cards charges. A third man, Pedro Ortiz, was charged with receiving stolen property but was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

On June 8, 2011 New Castle County Police began investigating a series of burglaries which occurred in twelve different communities in New Castle County. Authorities were able to identify Kline and Anderson when caught on video surveillance using stolen credit cards from the burglaries.

Arrest and search warrants were executed on June 22, 2011 at several locations in the community of Four Seasons in Newark, Delaware. Numerous stolen items, including cellular phones, foreign and U.S. coins and currency, electronics, GPS navigation devices, jewelry, laptop computer, lawn equipment, flat screen televisions and video game systems were found in the unit block of Kayak Court.

Anderson and Kline have been committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Institute after failing to post bail of $25,400 and $30,200 respectively. Vega was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institute after failing to post $4,500 secured bail.

New Castle County Police are hosting a showing of the property on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in hopes of identifying numerous items of stolen property. Detectives can be contacted at 395-8110 for any further questions regarding the recovered property.
