Discount deal for The Wildwoods

WILDWOOD, New Jersey - July 13, 2011

And now, tourism officials have come up with a money-saving deal to market the area to even more potential visitors.

"We want to make this whole region a stronger destination for the whole East Coast," explains Mike Porch of the Cape May Lewes Ferry. "The way people go to Cape Cod or Cape Hateras, we want them to come to the Twin Cape/Delaware Bay region."

So, from now until late August, passengers can buy a package deal for the Cape May Lewes Ferry that includes a lot more than passage for a person and a vehicle.

"It also includes a wristband to take advantage of the three Morey's Piers with unlimited rides, plus twopieces of pizza and a soda at Jumbo's restaurant on Boardwalk," Porch says, "Plus, you get unlimited tram-car rides on the famous sight-seer tram car on the boardwalk."

The price is $69.50 for the vehicle and first passenger and $33.50 for each additional person.

That amounts to a 50% saving for a family of four.

And it's not only a good deal for tourists, it's good for the businesses and the ferry, since the deal is being offered on week days, when ridership and tourism levels are lower.

"In the summer, we operate at or near capacity on the weekends," Porch says. "But on Monday through Thursday, we usually have excess capacity. So we are trying to encourage people who're looking for a good deal, looking for a good value, to travel during that time, when we have excess capacity."

The ferry, food and fun deal is good Mondays through Thursdays until August 25, 2011.
