Workers stabbed directing traffic at Pocono raceway

LONG POND, Pa. - August 8, 2011

Pocono Mountain Regional Police say the stabbings happened early Sunday, the day of the Good Sam RV Insurance 500. Police say the victims, ages 55 and 49, have injuries that aren't life-threatening.

Authorities say 20-year-old Melrose Park resident Daniel Kupper has been jailed on charges that he stabbed both men with a combat knife. It's not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

Police say Kupper was a passenger in a van when he got into an argument with the attendants in the staging area of the northeastern Pennsylvania raceway around 3:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say another passenger is also charged with simple assault and other counts.
