The resident called 911 at about 9:30 on Sunday night, when he heard a scuffle in his neighbor's house along the 5000 block of North Warnock Street, in the Logan section of the city.
Police say it turns out that two gunman had broken into the house, tied up the home owner, and were in the process of ransacking the place.
A SWAT unit arrived a few minutes after the 911 call, and surrounded the house before the suspects had a chance to flee.
The gunmen barricaded themselves inside the home, but police negotiators managed to talk them into surrendering peacefully.
The home owner was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where it was determined that he did not have any serious injuries.
The suspects face robbery, assault and other charges.
