The school district admitted no wrongdoing as part of the agreement.
The alleged harassment of the male student, which included name-calling and threats of violence, lasted from 2002 to 2007 while the student attended junior and senior high school in Emerson.
In addition to the money, the settlement calls for the north Jersey district to create clear protocols for the reporting harassment and more training of staff.
