It happened around 11:15 Saturday night on the 300 block of Lehigh Avenue.
A witness was able to get a partial description of the striking vehicle as it fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, to undergo surgery on multiple fractured bones.
The striking vehicle was later recovered on the 1200 block of American Street sometime overnight.
Police are still searching for the driver.
