Update: 2 women killed in crash not related

JUNIATAJanuary 23, 2012

It was approximately 2:15 a.m. early Saturday when 22-year-old Sharaina Locas was driving a green Chevy Impala westbound on the 300 block of E. Hunting Park Avenue. Investigators say she was traveling at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle, crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a Chrysler Sebring.

Locas was also pronounced dead on the scene. The two males that were in the Chrysler Sebring were transported to Temple University Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Preliminary information indicated that Locas and a female passenger in her vehicle were sisters. However, the investigation has revealed that to be incorrect. The identity of the second female has not been released.

There are no charges in reference to this accident.
