Car strikes teen at school bus stop in Delaware

WYOMING, Del. (AP) - March 27, 2012

Delaware State Police say Stephanie Buckley was standing in the driveway of her home Tuesday morning when her school bus arrived and activated its flashing lights. When she began to cross the road to board the bus, a car did not stop for the school bus and struck Buckley, throwing her to the ground.

The car stopped after the impact. Police are charging the driver, 46-year-old Norman Anderson of Dover, with inattentive driving and passing a stopped school bus.

Buckley is expected to recover from her injuries.
