NJ state police facing lawsuit over fatal crash

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) - April 7, 2012

The lawsuit recently filed by the families of 64-year-old Arthur Constantine and his 53-year-old wife, Lisa Schub, seeks unspecified damages. It alleges that the trooper driving the cruiser was negligent and speeding when the March 19 crash occurred on Route 206 in Southampton.

At the time, the trooper was responding to a traffic accident in Tabernacle.

Sources say the state police's initial report on the crash noted the trooper had activated his emergency lights and sirens, claims that the victims' families disputes.

State police declined comment on the suit, citing the agency's policy of not commenting on pending litigation.
