Woman stabbed at Wilmington bus stop

WILMINGTON - April 9, 2012

The incident took place at the unit block of W. 10th Street of Rodney Square shortly after 6:00 p.m.

Police say it appears that the victim and an unknown female became involved in a verbal altercation and a struggle ensued.

The unknown suspect produced a knife and swung it at the victim several times.

The victim sustained slash wounds to her left bicep and neck, as well as a puncture wound under her left armpit.

The victim fell to the ground and the unknown female walked away from the area, westbound on 10th Street.

The victim was transported to the Christiana Hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a light complexioned black female with black and light brown collar-length hair; chipped teeth; between 5'2 and 5'4, thin build; and 130-140 pounds.
