Ashley Zauflik's attorneys say the former Pennsbury High School student should get the full $11 million awarded to her by a jury during a civil trial last year.
The now-22-year-old Zauflik spent a month in a medically induced coma and had to have a leg amputated. She sued the district and was awarded $3 million for medical expenses and $11 million in additional damages. The district says a 1980 state law caps the pain and suffering portion at $500,000.
Zauflik's lawyers also told the judge Tuesday the district withheld the existence of a $10 million insurance policy until after the woman's civil case had ended.
The judge didn't say when he'd rule.
