Train breaks down on Market Frankford EL

KENSINGTON - April 24, 2012

The train experienced some mechanical problems around 7:15 a.m. Monday between the Erie Torresdale Station and the Tioga Station.

Engineers were unable to fix the problem, so firefighters and police were called to the scene to help escort passengers along the tracks and back to the Erie Torresdale Station, where they were then boarded onto shuttle buses and taken to the Frankford Terminal so that they can continue from there on their commute.

There were no reports of injuries.

The train was later slowly moved to the nearby Erie Torresdale Station for a closer inspection.

Service has since resumed on the Market Frankford EL. For the latest from SEPTA visit www.setpa.org.
