Man rescued from Schuylkill River at 30th Street

WEST PHILADELPHIA - May 24, 2012

Rescue crews responded just before 6:00 a.m. to the scene along westbound I-76 underneath 30th Street Station.

The man was spotted holding onto a bulkhead of a bridge in the river.

Marine units were dispatched and the man was pulled from the water.

The 40-year-old victim suffered some hypothermia and was taken to the Hospital of the University Pennsylvania where he was admitted in stable condition.

There is no word on how the man ended up in the river.
