Suspect in shooting of man, 80, escapes custody

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - May 30, 2012

Sean Johnson, 18, of the 2100 block of South 67th Street, had been under arrest for the shooting back on May 17th inside a home in the 6600 block of Yocum Street in Southwest Philadelphia.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Philadelphia police say Johnson escaped custody on Saturday and is still on the loose. No further details were provided.

The shooting happened after the victim allegedly heard a noise in his basement, went to investigate and was shot in the stomach and leg.

He remains in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said.
