KENSINGTON - June 6, 2012

The 18-year-old victim was last reported to be in extremely critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound that police said was "accidentally self-inflicted."

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at a home on the 1900 block of East Cumberland Street in the Kensington section.

Police say two brothers, age 22 and 13 hanging out with the 18-year-old, a friend.

The 18-year-old was on the computer involved in a web chat when, at one point, he produced a 9mm handgun and accidentally shot himself in the head, police said.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital and is not expected to survive. Doctors are waiting for a neurologist to come in and officially pronounce him brain dead.

The brothers were questioned by police who determined they will not be charged, calling this an accident.
