2 ejected in I-95 crash in NE Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - November 3, 2012

It happened around 11:30 Friday night just south of the Cottman Avenue ramp of the highway.

State Police say 20-year-old Youn Zelenskiy - the driver of a 2003 Acura - was travelling faster than the surrounding traffic.

The driver of a 1994 Acura Legend - 18-year-old Michael Vasquez - tried to switch lanes. As he did so, the back of his car was struck by Zelenskiy's vehicle.

Both cars lost control and crashed through a nearby guardrail. Vasquez' vehicle landed in grassy area 300 feet away.

Zelenskiy and a passenger - 20-year-old Trinard Sharpe - were both ejected after their vehicle overturned approximately 100 feet away.

Zelenskiy was listed in critical condition and Vasquez was listed in stable condition - both at Aria Torresdale Hospital.

Sharpe was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition.

No further information has been released.
