Suspect sought in Germantown store robbery

GERMANTOWN - December 4, 2012

The robbery took place at approximately 7:20 p.m. Saturday Anna's Linen store, located on the 300 block of West Chelten Avenue.

Investigators say a man entered the store and purchased chair pads. When the transaction was complete, the man then pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and demanded the employee hand over cash from the register.

The man then fled the scene on foot, making off with an undetermined amount of money, but not before being captured on surveillance.

The suspect is described as a black male, standing between 5'7" and 5'9", 30-40 years-of-age, with medium brown complexion, a thin build, and a goatee with some graying. At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a silver and green leather jacket with the Philadelphia Eagles logo on back, a dark knit cap, grey sweat pants and black and white sneakers.

Police are hoping someone recognizes the man. If you have any information on the man's identity and/or whereabouts, you are asked to contact investigators at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
