It happened at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Golden City Chinese food store at 4132 North Broad Street.
The attacker is seen on surveillance video walking into the business, knocking the 51-year-old male victim down and punching him repeatedly.
Police say the attacker eventually went through the man's pockets, took $230 in cash, then fled south on Broad Street.
Police have released the following description of the suspect:
Black male, 25-30 years-of-age, 5'7", medium complexion, wearing a blue skull cap, tan hooded jacket, button down shirt, dark colored pants and brown Timberland style boots.
