Air show returning to Lehigh Valley airport

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - March 27, 2013

The show is being planned for Aug. 24 and Aug. 25 and officials hope it will help generate revenue for the struggling airport in eastern Pennsylvania. The airport's executive director, Charles Everett, said at a meeting of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority on Tuesday that he hopes it will draw about 15,000 people.

The board has signed off on the show.

Everett says administrators have already contacted several groups about the taking part, including an all-women's skydiving group and an airport acrobatic team.

The last time the airport in Hanover Township held an air show was 1997.
