West Chester U. student who died in fall near Temple ID'd

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - April 18, 2013

Ali Fausnaught, 19, was killed after falling from a third floor roof in the 1900 block of North 18th Street around 5:30 p.m.

Police say she was part of a large group partying there when she fell and landed in an alley behind the building.

Fausnaught was pronounced dead a short time later at Temple University Hospital.

In a statement, a West Chester University spokesperson said Fausnaught was visiting friends at Temple. Police say several parties were going on in the neighborhood as part of a "Spring Fling" among Temple students.

"We were very saddened to learn last evening that one of our students, Ms. Ali Fausnaught, was tragically killed after an accidental fall," the statement read.

The spokesperson said Fausnaught was a recent transfer to West Chester and was majoring in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences.

At least eight people were taken in for questioning after the fall, but police have not said if anyone will be charged.
